Japoneses maples are one of the best small plants for the lawn. 'Ornatum' is no exemption, and is well-loved for its lace-like, filgree results in which are green in summer time, then yellow-colored in fall. Like other Japoneses maples, it needs a partly tinted identify which is secured from cold gusts of wind. The ground should be wet but well cleared. It is appropriate for increasing in a large package, using David Innes No 3 rich compost, but must be kept well properly watered.
